Our Mission: The Coalition of Lighthouse Schools exists to create a dynamic learning community of schools that is utilizing one-to-one computing to empower students and teachers to lead in the twenty-first century.

Resources

Maine Initiative: The state of Maine has the largest laptop program in the country. This site is loading with resources, curriculum, tutorials, professional development and much more.

Roanoke County Public Schools: This website has information regarding insurance, Acceptable Use Policy, loan agreements, student tips and rules for laptop use, and much more.

Listening to Student Voices — on Technology. A summary of available research on student attitudes, perceptions and behavior on technology and its current and potential role in K-12 education.

In 2003, Rockman Et Al, completed a three year study on one-to-one laptop computing. They conducted surveys to assess the experiences of schools participating in the Anytime Anywhere Learning program, which had grown from an original group of 52 pioneer schools to include more than 800 schools. The president, Saul Rockman, recently wrote this article summarizing their findings. Download the PDF.
