During the July 2006 iSummit in La Jolla, CA, the theme will be to open doors to global collaborations by using Apple tools to create meaningful, projects between classrooms which will live on beyond iSummit. Teachers of similar topics or grade levels will team up together to create a collaborative unit of study which will tie their classrooms together, through cyber-space, in an ongoing project for the ‘06-’07 school year. Apple Distinguished Educators will serve as mentors and advisors to assist with these projects.
During the 2007 iSummit, we hope many of the teachers will return to show the results of these projects.
The I.T. Strand at iSummit will work on ways that the technical support personnel can best help the schools and the teachers to support these projects. Other issues and concerns of the I.T. personnel, such as security, server and network support, will be addressed.
