iSummit 2008
iSummit 2008 will be the sixth annual conference of the Coalition of Lighthouse Schools. The CLS is a group of schools who have made a commitment to one-to-one computing as a significant means to equip our students to be leaders in the 21st century. Our conference focuses on three critical teams: Leadership, Learning, and Infrastructure. The real value of iSummit is that it is the only conference tailored to independent and charter schools which are engaged in a one-to-one computing program using Apple technologies. It is an opportunity for teachers, administrators and I.T. professionals to learn from each other, collaborate, network, and discuss common opportunities and challenges. Most education technology conferences are geared for public schools. This conference is all about Independent schools which are engaged in laptop learning using Apple notebook computers. The synergy that arises from so many professionals, with so much in common, is amazing!
Keynote Speaker: Tiffany Wilmot
Since 1990, Tiffany Wilmot has been a pioneer in the waste prevention &
green building industry. Ms. Wilmot is a LEED Accredited Professional, and serves as president of Wilmot, Inc., a Nashville-based sustainability & green building firm. The company’s mission is to incorporate high performance approaches to increase productivity, improve health, protect the environment and save money. She received the first Home LEED Gold Certification in the nation for greening Al and Tipper Gore’s home and also designs education programs for local schools and Universities for the U.S. Green Building Council. Wilmot’s current undertaking is a Sustainable Building Practices project with the US Army for which they won the 2006 White House Closing the Loop Award.
Wilmot is a licensed building contractor and holds two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and an MBA from Georgia State University.
